The Veterans’ Place is a veritable labyrinth of rooms and surprises, spanning from custom patchwork sewing and monogramming, a tea room, and a wide array of essential oils and diffusers. The business also includes a private room where area veterans can come in to speak with counselor volunteers from the VA Medical Center in Alexandria.
The building also includes a conference center next door with tables and televisions which will be utilized for any number of social activities such as hosting guest speakers, watching various sporting events, parties, dinners, and more. It's a place where veterans can come let their hair down,Be themselves and be heard.

Many Veterans seeking health care assistance are dependent on the VA medical facilities for their care. The Central Louisiana area is fortunate to have several very good VA medical facilities capable of treating physical and mental health issues. In addition to the VA system, there are private doctors, dentists and vision care centers as well as non-profit organizations that provide medical, dental and optical care as well as treatment for Post Traumatic Syndrome (PTS) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Several Veteran support groups are also available to help Veterans discuss their issues in non-threatening environments. Although the medical system is huge and complex, the Veterans Place can help you register with the VA medical system, transfer your service from another VA Medical Region, and help you find the right facility to address your health issues, whether they are inside or outside the VA medical health care system.
Finding a living wage job is difficult and hard work. It requires preparatory activities such as determining the type of job you are seeking, preparing your resume and developing interview skills. Attention to appearance and grooming are also important. There are many avenues to conducting your job search. You can apply at specific companies, government employment agencies, job search firms, job fairs, and online job listing services. Networking and social media services such as LinkedIn are also important tools for finding a job. The Veterans Place has access to many different service providers to help you prepare for and find employment. We understand the unique needs of Veterans who have recently separated from the military and are entering the civilian workforce. We also have access to service providers that have programs to address the special needs of female and disabled Veterans seeking employment.
The Veterans Place offers a wide range of services to help Veterans and their families. Counseling services include marriage, family, child and spiritual counseling. Veterans face many challenges when moving to a new community. The Veterans Place can connect Veterans to many different types of support and mentoring groups to include peer-to-peer support, business, student, female Veterans, and Veterans organizations. The Veterans Place also conducts an annual golf outing that provides the opportunity for Veterans to develop relationships and network with local community and business leaders in a relaxed environment. This event, which is free to eligible Veterans, promotes understanding between the civilian community and Veterans.
